This policy describes how personal data is handled on this website and in the course of tutoring, under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.

What this website collects
This website has no contact form, no newsletter and no social media plugins. Fonts are served from this website's own server, so no font request goes to Google. Two third parties are involved and only under the conditions described below: Google, for measurement and advertising, which is switched off until you accept it, and Stripe, but only if you choose to pay online.
Analytics and advertising
The Google tag, covering Google Analytics and Google Ads, is loaded on this site. It runs under Google Consent Mode v2 with analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising personalisation and advertising user data all set to denied before anything loads. Nothing is written to your device and no measurement identifier is created unless you press Accept on the bar at the bottom of the page. If you accept, Google receives the pages you view, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and technical details of your device and browser, and uses cookies to recognise a returning visit. What I get back is aggregate: which pages people read and which advertisements led to enquiries. It is not used to identify you individually and it is not combined with anything you send me by email or WhatsApp.
Changing or withdrawing that choice
Declining is a real option and costs you nothing: every part of the site works identically either way. Your answer is stored in your browser's local storage under a single key, not on my server. To change it later, use the Cookie settings link in the footer, or clear this site's data in your browser. Data Google has already processed can be addressed through Google's own privacy controls.
Paying online
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. If you buy a package, you are taken to a page hosted by Stripe and the details you enter there — name, email address, telephone number, the student's name, the school, the year group and your payment details — are collected by Stripe and passed on to me, apart from the card or TWINT details themselves, which I never see or hold. Stripe processes this to take the payment and to meet its own anti fraud and financial record keeping obligations, and its use of the data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy. Stripe is an international processor and data may be handled outside Switzerland and the EEA under the safeguards Stripe maintains for that purpose. I keep the record of the payment for as long as Swiss accounting law requires.
Server logs
The hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested, including the IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and the browser used. This is necessary to operate and secure the website. These logs are not used to build a profile of you and are not combined with any other data.
When you get in touch
If you contact me by email, WhatsApp or telephone, I hold what you send me for as long as needed to answer you and, if we work together, for as long as the working relationship and any legal retention obligations require. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and your use of it is governed by their terms and privacy policy, not mine.
Students under 18
Most of my students are minors. Arrangements are made with a parent or legal guardian, and I hold only what is needed to teach and to schedule: a name, a school, a year group, the subjects, and contact details for the parent. Nothing about a student is shared with anyone else without the parent's agreement.
Your rights
You may ask what data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted where there is no legal reason for me to keep it. Write to the email address above and I will answer.
