Terms
The terms on which tutoring is provided. They apply from the first paid session.
Rates
CHF 75 per hour, for every subject and every level, in person or online. Sessions normally run 90 to 120 minutes and the hourly rate applies to the time booked. Travel to your home is charged in addition to the hourly rate and is agreed before the first session.
The free consultation and demo lesson
The first consultation and one full hour of teaching are free and carry no obligation. They exist so both sides can decide whether to continue.
Booking and cancellation
Lessons are normally booked as a fixed weekly slot. A session cancelled with at least 24 hours notice is not charged and we find another time. A session cancelled with less notice, or a student who does not attend, is charged in full. Illness is an exception and is not charged.
Payment
Sessions may be paid by TWINT after each session. Hours may also be bought in advance through this website, in which case payment is taken by Stripe and the available methods are whatever Stripe offers for your device and country. Monthly plans are agreed in advance, invoiced before the month begins and may be paid by standing order.
Prepaid blocks of hours
Prepaid hours cost less per hour than the standard CHF 75 rate and may be used across any subject and any level, in person or online. A single prepaid session is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and a block of 10 or 20 hours for 12 months. Buying hours does not reserve a slot on its own; times are agreed with me afterwards. If we run out of time before the hours run out, tell me and I will extend rather than let them lapse.
Refunds on prepaid hours
Hours that have not been taught are refunded on request, at the rate actually paid for them, less any hours already used at that same rate. There is no fee for asking and no need to give a reason. Refunds are returned by the same method the payment was made.
No minimum term
There is no minimum contract and no notice period. Either side may stop at any point. Any part of a prepaid monthly plan that has not been taught is refunded.
What is promised, and what is not
I commit to preparing properly, teaching to the level required and being honest about progress. No specific grade or examination result is guaranteed, by me or by anyone who is being straight with you. Results depend on the work the student does between sessions as much as on the sessions themselves.
